Custom Youth & Toddler Apparel: Dress the Whole Family in Your Logo
When a company orders shirts, somebody always asks the same question at pickup: "Can I get one for my kid?"
The answer is yes — and it's easier than most people think. Youth tees, toddler hoodies, baby bodysuits, even bibs can carry the exact same logo as the adult gear. Here's how custom youth and toddler apparel works, which styles we reach for, and how to add kids' sizes to your next order without slowing it down.
Why kids' sizes are the easiest add-on to any order
- Company families love it. Employee gifts, company picnics, and holiday photos all get better when the kids match the crew.
- Teams and events run on it. Youth spirit wear sells at every tournament, fundraiser, and school event we print for.
- It makes the brand feel bigger. A toddler in a company hoodie turns a uniform into a story people talk about.
- It's one order, not two. Kids' pieces ride along with the adult garments — same logo, same production run, one pickup.
Youth & toddler styles we recommend
These are the pieces we decorate most, straight from our catalog:
- Port & Company Youth Core Cotton Tee (PC54Y) — the youth version of the most-printed t-shirt in the Northwest. Tons of colors, easy to match to adult PC54s.
- Port & Company Youth Core Fleece Hoodie (PC90YH) — the kid-size twin of the classic adult hoodie. This is the "matching family look" workhorse.
- District Youth Very Important Tee (DT6000Y) — a softer, slimmer fashion tee for school clubs and events.
- Rabbit Skins Toddler Fine Jersey Tee (RS3321) — sizes 2T through 5/6T, soft enough for everyday wear.
- Rabbit Skins Infant Baby Rib Bodysuit (RS4400) — the classic logo bodysuit for the newest member of the team.
- Rabbit Skins Infant Premium Jersey Bib (RS1005) — honestly the most-photographed item we decorate. New-hire baby gift, solved.
Want something specific — camo, sports stripes, a certain color? Browse the full catalog or just ask; if SanMar makes it in a kids' size, we can get it.
Which decoration works best on kids' clothes?
Embroidery looks sharp on youth hoodies, beanies, and bibs — the same stitched logo your crew wears, scaled down. For infant and toddler knits, we usually recommend a printed logo (DTG or DTF transfer) instead: it stays soft and flexible on lightweight fabric with no backing against the skin. Screen printing is the go-to for youth team shirts in quantity.
Not sure which fits your logo? That's literally our job — request a quote and tell us what you're making; we'll recommend the right method for each piece.
Kids' sizing, decoded
- Infant: NB, 6M, 12M, 18M, 24M — bodysuits and bibs live here.
- Toddler: 2T, 3T, 4T, 5/6T — toddler tees and zip hoodies.
- Youth: XS (4) through XL (18/20) — youth XL often fits like an adult small, which is handy for middle schoolers who refuse "kid sizes."
When you're collecting sizes from families, a simple rule keeps returns near zero: when in doubt, size up — kids grow into it by the second wash.
Common questions
Can I mix adult and kids' sizes in one order?
Yes — that's the normal way to do it. Same design across adult and youth pieces generally counts together toward your quantity pricing, so adding six youth tees to a 48-piece order is easy. Your rep will confirm the details on your quote.
Is there a minimum for youth or toddler pieces?
Small add-on runs are usually no problem when they ride along with a larger order. Standalone kids' orders work too — tell us the quantity and we'll quote it straight.
Will the logo be identical to the adult version?
Same artwork, scaled appropriately. A full-back adult print becomes a proportional youth print; a left-chest logo stays a left-chest logo. If your logo has fine detail, we'll flag anything that needs simplifying at small sizes before anything gets produced.
